Trafford students donate over 900 boxes of candy to nonprofit
Trafford Elementary School students participated in the National Random Act of Kindness Week, the week of Feb. 14, by collecting theater-sized boxes of candy to donate to Beverly’s Birthdays, a North Huntingdon nonprofit that provides birthday cheer to children experiencing homelessness and whose families are in need.
Trafford students collected more than 900 boxes of candy to help celebrate the birthdays of local children in need.
Amy Sipple’s third grade class brought in the most boxes of candy, earning a pajama day later this year.
P-T students bury time capsule
First grade students at Penn-Trafford’s Trafford Elementary School made a time capsule that they will open when they are seniors.
The students made the time capsule on 2-2-22, to be opened on 3-3-33. Each student was given a packet to complete that included a worksheet documenting their age, along with their “favorites”: color, animal, TV show and books.
The time capsule also included a fact sheet about 2022 that noted the average prices of gas, milk and other products.
Students finished a prediction sheet on which they wrote what they want to be when they grow up, and a note from their first grade teachers to read when they open it as seniors.
