Trafford school gets grant for flag football

Trafford Middle School students will have new footballs and flag belts this year thanks to a $500 grant from the ‘Fuel Up to Play 60!’ program.

The grant also provided an NFL Flag-In-School Football curriculum, which includes a series of “skills and drills” videos.

The grant was made possible through the National Dairy Council and the National Football League.

Ryan Yarosik, the school’s physical education teacher, wrote the grant application.

“I thought it was an awesome opportunity to recognize the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment and social interaction,” Yaroski said.
