Level Green Lions to serve pancake breakfast
Level Green Lions will hold a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m. until noon March 19 at the Level Green Community Building, 123 Murrysville Road.
Blueberry or plain buttermilk or buckwheat pancakes are “all you can eat.” Meals also include sausage and breakfast.
The cost is $7 per person; children are $3.50. Take-outs are available.
The fundraiser supports Lions charities.
Tickets will be available at the door.
Penn Township seniors group to meet
The Penn Township Senior Citizens will meet March 22 at the Community United Methodist Church, 387 Route 130, Harrison City.
Lunch will cost $6 and will be served at 1 p.m. The meeting will be at 2 p. m.
Dues are $2 and masks are optional.
Bushy Run Lions to serve pancake breakfast
The Bushy Run Lions Club, with the assistance of Boy Scout Troop 239 and the Girls of Boy Scout Troop 1239, will hold its annual pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon March 26 at the Community United Methodist Church, 3487 Route 130, Harrison City.
Pancakes or buckwheat cakes are “all you can eat.” Breakfast also includes sausage, home fries and drinks.
The cost is $7 per person and children under age 6 eat for free. Take-outs are available.
The fundraiser supports Lions charities.
Lions Club members have tickets for sale and tickets will be available at the door.

Audition date set for ‘How I Became a Pirate’
The Trafford Performing Arts Center will host auditions March 27 for its production of “How I Became a Pirate,” based on the book by Melinda Long.
Auditions will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center, 235 Cavitt Ave. in Trafford. Adults and children ages 10 and older will be asked to perform cold reads from the script, as well as a 16-bar song in a musical theater style. Actors should bring a head shot and resume if available.

Vietnam War veterans pinning ceremony slated
Vietnam War veterans will be able to receive a commemorative pin to honor their service during a ceremony at 2 p.m. March 31 in the J. Howard Snyder Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 781, Billott Avenue, North Huntingdon.
The ceremony is being held in conjunction with National Vietnam War Veterans Day.
Veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces between November 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975 — regardless of location — will be eligible to receive a lapel pin. Family members are invited to attend the ceremony with veterans.
Vietnam-era veterans wanting to attend the event should contact the Westmoreland County Department of Veterans Affairs at 724-830-3530.
Mon Yough Chorale welcomes new members
The Mon Yough Chorale is seeking singers for its spring session. Rehearsals are held on Sunday evenings, 7 to 9 p.m., at Sampson’s Mills Presbyterian Church, 1665 Lincoln Way, White Oak.
All voices are welcomed. No audition required.
Only fully vaccinated singers will be accepted at this time.

Community Band jazz available to perform
The 19-member Penn-Trafford Community Band’s Jazz Warriors Big Band is available to perform for organizations, businesses, or social gatherings or banquets.
The Jazz Warriors play a variety of music from popular big band and jazz standards, to swing, Latin, funk and even a few jazz rock favorites.
