Father-daughter dance, women’s business meetings planned in Penn-Trafford area

Father-daughter dance slated in Trafford

The Penn-Trafford Area Recreation Commission is sponsoring a father-daughter dance with a catered dinner from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Trafford Manchester Room, 414 Brinton Ave.

Disc jockey Tony Roberson will provide the entertainment.

The fee is $59 per couple and $21 for each additional child.

Women’s Business Network meetings

The Women’s Business Network, which supports the success and growth of women in business, hosts regular meetings in the Star’s coverage area:

• The Penn Township/Jeannette chapter meets the second and fourth Thursday of the month at noon, at Sweet Buzz, 3353 Route 130, Harrison City. For more, call 724-331-4167.

• The All Virtual Chapter meets via Zoom on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. For more, call 412-908-1663.

Trafford concert planned

The River City Brass Band will perform a free concert at 7 p. m. Aug. 13 at Westmoreland Park in Trafford.

Parking will be available at the Trafford Middle School, with a drop off area available at Westmoreland Park.

Those wishing to attend can bring a chair or blanket for seating. No smoking or alcohol are permitted in the park.

Donations of non-perishable food will be collected for the Trafford Food Bank.

Kari Ann Leventopoulos, a Penn-Trafford student and author of the book “Henry is Hungry,” will sing at the opening of the concert.

Trafford businesses are sponsoring the concert to benefit the Trafford Public Library.

The rain date will be Aug. 20.
