Penn Hills School Board reorganizes
Penn Hills School Board welcomed one new member and four returning members at its final meeting of the year on Dec. 6.
Incumbents Erin Vecchio, Jackie Blakey-Tate, Devon Goetze and Robert Marra swore their oath of office alongside newcomer Heather Broman. She replaces Meryl Thomas, who served on the board for one term before losing her bid for reelection in November.
Vecchio was reelected as board president for her ninth consecutive year in an 8-1 vote, with Goetze voting no.
Blakey-Tate was elected as board vice president in a unanimous vote. She was the only nominee for the position and will be replacing Evelyn Herbert.
Blakey-Tate was also nominated as an applicant for a vacant position on the Allegheny Intermediate Unit Board.
