Hundreds of people participated in a Penn Hills Rotary spaghetti dinner in support of municipal volunteer firefighters on April 27.

Hundreds of people participated in a Penn Hills Rotary spaghetti dinner fundraiser April 27.

The social hall of Mt. Hope Community Presbyterian Church along Frankstown Road in Penn Hills was packed with hungry supporters and volunteers for the event.

Rotary officials said they served about 325 dinners in an effort to raise $10,000 for a firefighter training center.

Dinners included pasta with homemade meatballs, salad, rolls, cake and Turner’s beverages.

Monroeville firefighters and first responders from surrounding towns, as well as Penn Hills School District officials were among the patrons.
