Penn Hills area coronavirus numbers highest among eastern suburbs

As coronavirus cases continue to surge in Allegheny County and across the country, the Penn Hills area’s numbers remain the highest in the eastern suburbs.

As of Dec. 8, there have been 1,137 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Penn Hills since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. Seventeen deaths have been reported, and 8,843 tests have been administered to Penn Hills residents.

Penn Hills’ case rate is 269 per 10,000 residents.

Since the pandemic began, Verona has had 58 cases. One death has been reported, and 523 Verona residents have had tests administered.
