Thompson Run Road pickup set for April 10

The Penn Hills Anti-Litter Group is holding a litter pickup event on Thompson Run Road from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. April 10

Volunteers can meet at the Penn Hills VFD No.6, 2240 Main St. Gloves, vests and bags will be provided.

Students news

Lawrence Hill, a Slippery Rock University senior art major from Verona will have his work featured through April 30 in a virtual exhibition, “MOSAIC: Individually Together.”

In addition to showcasing the work of SRU art students, a virtual April 1 reception also will honor the winners of the third annual SRU Draw, a drawing competition sponsored by the University’s Art Department in January.

Crime tip line

Penn Hills has developed a phone number to call for anyone who wishes to report a crime anonymously.

The number is 412-342-0922.

Stream cleanup

The Thompson Run Watershed Association is seeking volunteers to clean up the Chalfant Run Watershed at the Churchill Valley Greenway.

The cleanup will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 10, rain or shine. For more information, email Renee Dolney at renee@chalfantrun.org.
