Looking for a little spooky fun this holiday season? The Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh is hosting classic horror movie nights at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center during October.
Viewing will be outside on the grounds of the center at 6000 Verona Road, Verona. The evening includes a classic movie, snacks and a special encounter with one of the Wildlife Educational Ambassadors.
On the big screen Oct. 16 is the legendary local offering “Night of the Living Dead” (1968). On Oct. 23, the 1960 classic “Ghosts” will be shown.
The area opens at 7 p.m., and the movies start at 7:30 p.m.

Guests who donate an item from the center’s Wish List will be entered into a drawing to win a Behind the Scenes Tour of the Wildlife Center and other “wild” items. The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is a fully licensed wildlife facility that specializes in caring for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. Annually, more than 4,200 injured wildlife of over 100 unique species are admitted and treated by the center so the animal ultimately can be returned to their natural habitat. Among them are more than 2,300 mammals, 1,700 birds, 50 reptiles and over 100 unique species. In addition, more than 20 educational animal ambassadors reside at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
