Penn Hills District Judge Anthony L. DeLuca handled the following cases recently. Defendants will have court dates set in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. Charges were filed by Penn Hills police unless otherwise noted:
Waived preliminary hearings
• Jason Melton, 49, of Penn Hills on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of drugs. Charges were filed April 24.
• Kenneth Melvin, 29, of Plum on charges of indecent exposure and open lewdness. Charges were filed by Monroeville police Oct. 28.
Held for court
• April Lynn Miles, 57, of Pittsburgh on charges of receiving stolen property and two counts of use of an access device for illicit purposes. Charges were filed by Wilkins police Nov. 5.
Miles waived her preliminary hearing on a case filed by Monroeville police Nov. 17. Charges related to that incident include flight to avoid apprehension, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to use turning signals, having an open alcoholic container in the vehicle, not having properly functioning rear lights, failing to wear a seat belt and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.
• Albion Tourje Unthank, 27, of Pittsburgh on illegal possession of a firearm. The charge was filed March 24.
• Jermaine Wright, 45, of Wilkinsburg on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under a revoked or suspended license, improper passing, failing to stop at a stop sign, reckless driving, causing an accident involving damage to an unattended vehicle, improper sunscreening on windows, two counts of possession of drugs with intent to deliver and three counts of possession of drugs. Charges were filed Nov. 25.
