Oakmont Borough swears in 9th full-time patrol officer
Oakmont Mayor Sophia Facaros swore in the borough’s ninth full-time patrol officer on Monday night.
After a four-month application, interview and testing process, Officer Tyler Condron was officially hired. He was up against five other applicants who completed a physical agility test, a task that commonly includes officers completing sit ups, a 300-meter run and a 1.5-mile run.
He then passed a written exam, an oral exam given by three retired police chiefs from different departments, a polygraph test and a full background check.
Condron has served with Highmark’s police force since August. Before that, he was a full-time officer with the Frazer Police Department for eight months. He starts in January.
