Norwin Holiday House Tour goes virtual

The Norwin Historical Society’s annual Holiday House Tour is going virtual on Dec. 5 and 6 for its 25th anniversary because of coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

The virtual tour can be viewed anytime online through a link and password, which will be provided to those who sign up at www.norwinhistoricalsociety.org. Those interested can register at the Norwin Public Library, Caruthers Lane, Irwin, or at the Norwin Chamber of Commerce, 321 Main St., Irwin. The deadline to register is Dec. 3.

There will also be a watch party from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Greenhouse Winery near Rillton. The event includes dinner, wine sampling and an opportunity to win a spa package or gift basket.

Emergency management seeks volunteers

North Huntingdon’s new emergency management coordinator is seeking volunteers.

Robert Dippolito, who was appointed the emergency management coordinator in October, said he is looking for about five volunteers to provide assistance in case of emergencies.

Dippolito, a retired North Huntingdon police officer, said those interested can apply on the township website at: https://www.township.north-huntingdon.pa.us/FormCenter/Emergency-Management-4/Volunteer-Assistance-44.
