Several roads in Bradford Woods are expected to be closed, or will have limited access, between June 19 and 21 for filming of the Netflix series “I Am Not Okay With This.”
Borough council approved a “soft” closure at both ends of Lincoln Road where it intersects with Bradford and Forest roads. A detour will be posted when the road is closed. Residents who live on the road will still be able to access their homes.
Filming is expected to occur daily between 10 a.m. and 1 a.m. There will be a posted detour route for through traffic.
East Harding Road and Spruce Lane will be closed to all vehicle traffic while filming is taking place. Residents who live along these roads will be able to walk to their homes or drive there while filming is at a halt.
Borough council, which approved the road closures, is requiring officers from the Northern Regional Police Department to be present during the road closures to ensure the safety of residents and the production crews working in the area.
A private security company hired by Netflix also will be in the area during filming.
The series, which is an adaptation of the graphic novel by Charles Forsman, is about a teenage girl navigating the trials and tribulations of high school while dealing with the complexities of her family, her budding sexuality and the mysterious superpowers just beginning to awaken from deep within her, according to producers.
The show stars Sophia Lillis, who is best known for her role as Beverly Marsh in the horror film “It,” the film adaptation of Stephen King’s 1986 novel.
