Road in Ross Township shutting down for 3 months for repair project

A portion of Mt. Troy Road Extension in Ross Township will be closed for nearly three months for a major improvement project along the roadway, Allegheny County public works officials announced.

Beginning Sept. 7, a 300-foot section of the roadway in the 4400 block of Mt. Troy Road Extension will be closed to vehicle traffic for construction of a support wall and installation of a system to control slope erosion. The project also includes new guide rails, curbs, drainage work and pavement.

The project is expected to be completed in December.

Motorists will follow a detour along Mt. Troy Road and Ivory Avenue.

Residents who live in the area that is shut down will still have access to their homes.

The $582,000 project is being is being done by A. Merante Contracting Inc. of Pittsburgh.
