Starting today, a section of Rochester Road in Franklin Park will be closed through late August to repair a slide, PennDOT announced.

The road was closed July 8 between Wexford Bayne and Nicholson roads for slide remediation work at two locations, the transportation agency announced.

Traffic from both directions of the area where the slide is being repaired will follow a detour from Rochester Road to Wexford Bayne Road, right on Nicholson and back onto Rochester.

In addition to the slide repairs, the project will include paving, drainage improvements and guiderail replacement.
