Northland Public Library hosting variety of online activities in October

Here are some of the upcoming programs offered at Northland Public Library. Some of the virtual programs require registration online at northlandlibrary.org or by calling 412-366-8100. The library is located at 300 Cumberland Road in McCandless.

• Intro to Tarot, Oct. 22, 7 p.m. — Rebecca Bloom will discuss the history of tarot cards, explore different schools of thought in the tarot community and demonstrates a three-card spread.

Registration required. A Zoom link will be sent the day before the program.

• Investigating Big Foot, Oct. 29, 7 p.m. — Join local Bigfoot researcher and investigator George Workman as he talks about Bigfoot’s presence in Western Pennsylvania and share stories from his time looking for this elusive creature.

Registration required. A Zoom link will be sent the day before the program.

• Fiction socially distant book club, Oct. 16, noon — The current title is “Lived in the Castle” by Shirley Jackson.

• Yarn It All virtual gathering, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. — Crochet and knitting enthusiasts of all experience levels can work on their current project, share tips and patterns.

• North Hills Genealogists, Oct. 19, 7 p.m. — The topic for discussion is titled “Finding Faith: Using Diocesan Sacramental Records to Document Family History.”
