Student leaders

North Allegheny Senior High School seniors Victoria Ren and Alina Zaidi were named as Bank of America Student Leaders for 2021. The prestigious program helps prepare students to enter the workforce through skills-building and leadership development.

Ren and Zaidi were selected for their commitment to community involvement, service and youth mentorship. Ren and Zaidi have held leadership positions on student council.

Ren is co-founder of STEM & Buds, a for-youth, by-youth 501c3 that creates science-communication and mentorship between students, with 62 chapters across the country.

Zaidi is the founder of Money Not Magic, an after-school program she created to engage and educate young children in personal finance. Through Money Not Magic, Zaidi has taught financial literacy to more than 50 local kids.

Other achievements

• Jack Naughton is enrolled at the College of Holy Cross as a member of the Class of 2025. Fall classes were set to begin Sept. 6.

• Jennifer Rakowski has contributed to the Youngstown State University Sokolov Honors College Transcribing Club and earned the designation Member for service to the group. Rakowski is a biochemistry major.

• Paige Longmore has been named to the University of Findlay’s IHSA Hunt Seat Team for 2021-22. The University of Findlay’s Hunt Seat Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team has become one of the top equestrian teams in the country. Riders are judged on hunt seat equitation over fences and/or on the flat.
