The Democratic Committees in several North Hills communities are playing host to a free training program for party members interested in running for political office and their supporters.

The training session, which is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 31 in Marshall Township, will cover topics such as communicating with voters, recruiting volunteers and managing campaign finances.

Organizers note that numerous positions at the local level are up for election in 2019, including spots in municipal government and school boards that serve as decision-makers on important issues such as taxes, economic development and education policy.

The program is sponsored by the Democratic Committees in Bradford Woods, Franklin Park, Marshall and McCandless but is open to residents in all North Hills communities.

To sign up to attend, contact the McCandless Democratic Committee at 412-719-5276.
