A North Hills charity is participating in an online donation program Tuesday called Critical Needs Alert Day that will match the amount of pledges it receives.

Donations received by North Hills Community Outreach between 8 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on May 7 — dubbed Critical Needs Alert Day — will be eligible to receive a match from the Pittsburgh Foundation, which has a pool of $738,000 to assist local charitable organizations.

NHCO is one of 190 nonprofits in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties participating in the Foundation’s program.

Donations can be earmarked for NHCO online.

NHCO helps families and senior citizens in northern Allegheny County with a range of programs and services including food pantries and assistance with utility bills, employment, transportation and education.
