A month-long street repaving project kicked off today in Marshall Township, officials announced.
Crews from Shields Paving are scheduled to resurface the following township roads:
• Registry Lane
• Fern Hollow Lane
• Bridgebrook Lane
• Valley Road
• Cliff Road
• Devine Drive
• Carvine Court
• Marshall Heights Drive
• Windgate Drive
• Ash Court
Signs will be posted along streets with the specific dates work is scheduled to be done.
The project is expected to be completed by July 30.
Local traffic will be maintained during construction but no on-street parking will be permitted during work hours, which run from 6 a.m .to 7 p.m.
Vehicles that remain on the street after 6 a.m. will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Drivers traveling through the construction zone should be aware of uncovered manholes, water valves and inlets, which will be marked cones or neon paint.
Residents can avoid damage to their properties or causing delays in the project by marking the location of lawn sprinkler heads and lines as well as drain lines and pipe outlets that flow toward the roads that are scheduled for paving.
The location of electrified dog fences that are in the municipal right of way along a property also should be marked to avoid damage during construction.
The work includes milling the road surface and in some cases, removal of curbs. Temporary ramps will be installed at the curb to allow access to driveways.
To prevent damage to the new curbs, residents should not park vehicles on them for 30 days after they have been constructed.
