La Roche University will host a series of admissions events from September through December, inviting high school and transfer students to explore the McCandless campus.

During the fall admissions events, students and families will learn about the school’s more than 50 majors, NCAA Division III athletics programs and study abroad opportunities, as well as the admissions process and financial aid.

La Roche University offers a one-time $200 grant to students who visit and tour campus. The grant is applied to the student’s first-semester tuition.

The university plans to host preview nights on Sept. 20, Oct. 11 and Dec. 7. During the preview nights, participants will hear from current students and take a tour of the campus. There will also be information about campus life, the application process and financial aid options.

More than 100 colleges and universities will flock to La Roche’s Kerr Fitness and Sports Center on Oct. 4 for the North Pittsburgh College Fair from 6 p.m. till 10 p.m. Touted as one of the largest college fairs in Western Pennsylvania, the event will give high school students and their families a chance to meet with representatives from universities, colleges and technical schools from around the country.

An open house slated for Nov. 13 will include presentations from academic departments, admissions and financial aid. Students and their families will have the opportunity to interact with faculty and explore academic programs and more.

The college is also inviting certain athletes to attend recruitment days.

Men’s basketball recruit days are slated for Oct. 23 and Nov. 13. Recruits will attend a scrimmage, tour campus and learn about the admissions process.

During a volleyball recruit day scheduled for Oct. 26, student-athletes can meet the team, tour campus, learn how to apply and watch a home volleyball match.

Interested students can register online for upcoming events or contact the freshman admissions office at 412-536-1272. Transfer students can call 412-536-1260.
