Kidney specialists expanding practice to serve northern Allegheny, southern Butler counties
Northern Allegheny County residents will now have access to a medical practice, specializing in kidney care, that has been treating patients for more than four decades.
Teredesai, McCann & Associates, which operates nine offices in the region, is scheduled to open its newest nephrology office Sept. 2 in Cranberry.
The new office is located in the Regus office space at Cranberry Crossroads, 2009 Mackenzie Way, Suite 100.
“It has always been a goal of ours to expand more north of the city and grow our patient base,” said Dr. Pradip Teredesai, who founded the practice in 1978.
The other locations are in Aliquippa, Baden and Chippewa in Beaver County; Waynesburg and Washington in Washington County; and four offices in Pittsburgh’s south and west suburbs including Cecil and Collier.
Teredesai said the upcoming opening of the new 160-bed AHN Wexford Hospital in Pine Township this fall “has provided a perfect opportunity to make the jump and begin to serve the people of Cranberry.”
AHN and its parent company, Highmark Health, broke ground on the hospital in 2018 as part of its nearly $1 billion expansion plan that includes an additional four neighborhood hospitals and renovation of its existing facilities in Western Pennsylvania.
AHN Wexford is being built adjacent to the health network’s Wexford Health and Wellness Pavilion on Perry Highway, which opened in 2014 and was the health system’s first major medical facility in the northern suburbs.
Teredesai’s new practice is accepting new patients at the Cranberry location, and all medical insurance is accepted.
“The doctors and staff of TMA are dedicated to providing high quality and comprehensive care for their patients,” he said. “As nephrology specialists, they strive to offer the best treatment of all kidney, hypertension and electrolyte disorders.”
The kidney specialists also work closely with their patients’ primary care physicians to create a health-care team, he said.
