Richard Road closed for work
Richard Road (Route 4053) is closed in both directions through Oct. 1 for slide repair work.
The work is being done between Forest Oaks Drive and Meinert Road.
A posted detour takes motorists onto Meinert Road, Pine Creek Road, Perry Highway and back onto Richard Road.

McCandless seeking applicants for posts
McCandless is seeking applicants for several open positions on town boards, commissions and authorities.
The deadline to apply online at http://bit.ly/McCandlessPositions is 5 p.m. on Oct. 14.
Here are the available positions:
• Two openings for 3-year terms on the Personnel Board
• One position for a 5-year term on the McCandless Industrial Development Authority
• Two openings for 5-year terms on the McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority
• One 5-year term on the McCandless Township Sanitary Authority
Completed applications can be emailed to administration@townofmccandless.org. Applications also can be dropped off or mailed to Town of McCandless, 9955 Grubbs Road, Wexford, PA 15090.
Qualified applicants will be interviewed by town council.

Citizen of the Year nominations accepted
Ross is seeking nominations for its Citizen of the Year Award to recognize residents who have demonstrated exemplary service to the community.
Founded in 2019, the Durachko-Gottfried Ross Township Citizen of the Year Award is presented to a Ross Township resident or group “who have made a meaningful and significant impact on our community.”

Applicants sought for public works director
The Town of McCandless is accepting applications from people interested in serving as the superintendent of public works.
The person selected for the job will replace current superintendent Mark Sabinia, who is retiring after more than 50 years of service to the municipality, including 40 years leading the department.
The public works superintendent oversees road maintenance, stormwater systems, parks, vehicle fleet management and building maintenance.
There are 26 full-time employees and four seasonal workers in the department.
