Kids’ Day Out

West View United Methodist Church, 146 Cornell Ave., will hold a Kids’ Day Out in the Fellowship Hall from 1-4 p.m. Dec. 10. Children will be doing a Christmas craft, games and watching a movie. Rotary scholarships

The Bob Williams Rotary Memorial Scholarship Program has scholarships available for the 2022-2023 academic year. In recent years, at least eight scholarships at $5,000 each have been awarded. High school seniors in Allegheny and Beaver Counties are eligible to apply. Vocational students, G.E.D students and those attending parochial, charter and private schools are also eligible.

Students must have a 2.5 or higher grade point average and also must complete an essay, which highlights their community/school service, as part of the application submission.

Sealarks Women’s Group

Sealarks Women’s Group will meet at Memorial Park Church in McCandless at 1 p.m. Dec. 14. The group provides Christian fellowship and social activity for women alone – widowed, divorced or never married. All women alone are welcome to attend and consider joining the group. Entertainment will be provided by John Sarkas of the Skyliners. For additional information, call Edie at 412-487-7194.

One Night in Bethlehem

Sts. Martha and Mary Parish will host the annual “One Night in Bethlehem” family Christmas event from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 10 at the St. Catherine of Sweden social hall on Wildwood Road in Hampton.

Children ages 2 through 10 can participate in storytelling, crafts, games and a birthday party for Jesus. The evening concludes with an outdoor living Nativity scene, complete with Biblical characters and live animals.

Tickets, limited to the first 150 children, are $8 per child (children under 2 admitted at no charge) and can be purchased at the parish office or through the parish website. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Adult admission is free with a donation of a baby item for Lifeline of Southwestern PA.

Coupon book sale

The Ross Community Center has the 2023 Enjoy Coupon Book on sale for $30. Stop in from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The book features local and national offers.

Food pantry hours

There are two food pantries in West View. The Ridgewood Church Food Pantry is located at 328 Centre Ave., and is open Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m. and Wednesdays from 2:30-5 p.m. For more information, visit ridgewood.church/food-pantry. Christmas concert

Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra Christmas Concert will take place at 4 p.m. Dec. 11 at St. Richard Church, 3841 Dickey Road in Richland. Pablo Ardilies is the conductor. Listen to the beautiful sounds of the season as the gifted students share their talents.

The concert is part of the newly-established Saints Martha & Mary Parish Concert Series, which will foster a deeper appreciation of sacred music through high-quality concerts that are accessible and free to all attendees; free-will offerings accepted.
