Free compost in McCandless

Leaf mulch for residents will be available at the parking lot between the McCandless/Northern Allegheny Heritage Center and the Lorraine G. Rogers Soccer Fields this spring. Delivery of the mulch will take place on March 26 and again on April 9. Compost will not be available until after 3 p.m. on those dates. Residents are asked to take only one pickup truckload of mulch, which will be available until it is gone.

Pickleball in Franklin Park

The Pickleball Courts at Blueberry Hill Park are now open for play and the courts at Old Orchard Park are scheduled to open on April 1. When using all courts, please exercise caution if they are wet, especially in the mornings, because there could be slippery conditions.

There currently is construction occurring at the Pickleball Courts at Blueberry Hill Park, so players should be cautious in the area.
