A group of Holy Cross Academy cross country athletes and their families participated in Amen to Action on Nov. 12. As the team’s service project, the group helped pack 100,000 meals, along with more than 250 people representing 17 different faith-based churches and organizations from around the region.

The HCA-led “team” packed 1,116 meals alone. The meals were distributed through the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Additional cross country families gathered again the following weekend to pack more meals.

Amen to Action, a project of the Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation, takes place each weekend in November at 10 locations around Pittsburgh with the goal of packing 1,000,000 meals. More information can be found at amentoaction.org.
