After many years of not fielding a team, Holy Cross Academy in Ross brought back its track and field team this year with 19 kids from second through sixth grade willing to try out the unknown.

The students grew together as a team and saw improvements in times and distances as the season went on. Mid-way through the season, the team decided to add a few throwing events to the mix in the hopes that they could compete for a team championship.

HCA students rose to the challenge and impressed their coaches with positive attitudes and willingness to learn. All of that hard work paid off in the championship meets where individuals and relay teams earned medals in every age and gender grouping, capped off by a JV boys diocesan championship.
