Gucci on Friday opened a new store in Ross Park Mall.
Spanning more than 5,000 square feet, the shop showcases men’s ready-to-wear, men’s and women’s shoes, handbags, luggage, small leather goods, jewelry and eyewear, the company said in a statement.
Shoppers will also be able to explore Gucci’s Cosomogonie collection. Initially presented last May in Puglia, Italy, the collection includes the Aphrodite bag and other handbags.
Founded in Florence, Italy in 1921, Gucci touts itself as one of the world’s leading luxury brands. The company said it continues “to redefine luxury while celebrating creativity, Italian craftmanship and innovation.”
The Ross Park Mall location marks Gucci’s first directly owned and operated boutique in the Pittsburgh region.
In a statement announcing the new store, Gucci said they aimed to create a mood of “discretion” in the store with “understated drama” created by a “surprising and unexpected combination of materials.” The space features “sumptuous chairs,” as well as vintage oriental rugs.”
“The result is a space that entices, surprises and feels personal to Gucci,” the company’s statement said.
Ross Park Mall announced on its social media that the store was opening on the lower level of the mall.
A Simon Mall, Ross Park Mall boasts nearly 170 shops, including Tiffany & Co., Apple, Louis Vuitton, LEGO and Michael Kors, according to the mall’s website. The mall is anchored by Nordstrom, Macy’s, L.L. Bean and JCPenney.
