Why Louis Armstrong Matters
6 p.m. Oct. 7
You might associate Louis Armstrong with “What a Wonderful World,” “Hello Dolly” or “Cabaret,” but these were hits from only the last decade of his life! Many don’t realize that Louis Armstrong single-handedly changed so much about music, from the way we sing, the way we phrase and the way we swing. Tom Roberts from Hot Club of Pittsburgh will share rare and recently discovered images from more than 100 years ago and state-of-the-art restorations of Louis’ recordings. Registration is required.
