Stuck on what to fix for dinner?

If it’s a Thursday night during summer, the choice is not only easy, it’s fresh and locally sourced.

Chatham University’s Eden Hall campus in Richland is hosting Farm to Fork Summer Market outdoor dining events from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays featuring meals prepared from meats, grains, produce and other foods that have been grown, harvested and prepared by local providers, including the campus’ certified organic gardens.

“This past year, we were able to connect in a way that we never had before with the local community at our Eden Hall campus by offering fun, themed, family-style, takeout meals,” said Courtney Blood, general manager of Parkhurst Dining at Chatham, which provides meal service for the university.

“Our team came up with the Farm to Fork Market Series, and, with our partnership with Chatham University, we are excited to be able to share with the public some of the delicious and nutritious food that the university harvests, and we produce it on campus,” she said.

Visitors can get food and beverages to-go, bring their own picnic blanket, or dine at one of the outdoor tables.

There also will be farm items, organic produce, homemade breads and meal kits for sale.

“Having a different theme each Thursday allows us to showcase different flavors and preparation methods,” Blood said. “So our visitors will be sure to have a unique dining experience no matter how many times they return throughout the summer.”

The schedule for the remaining Summer Market events is:

• July 22: Picnic — Enjoy all the fixings for a traditional outdoor picnic with a gourmet burger and hot dog bar as well as carnival cotton candy for the kids.

• July 29: Tacos — Bring the heat with a variety of meat, fish and other taco options ranging from traditional to spicy.

• Aug. 5: BBQ — Explore U.S. regions of BBQ, including Kansas City’s tomato-based sauce on burnt ends and South Carolina’s mustard-based sauce on pulled pork.

• Aug. 12: Pizza: — Create your own pizza masterpiece, grilled to order. A variety of sauces, cheeses and toppings will be available along with gluten-free crust.

Chatham’s Eden Hall campus is located at 6035 Ridge Road.
