Delmont VFD Auxiliary super bingo
The Delmont Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will host a $6,000 super bingo night at 6:30 p.m. March 7. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. No one under age 14 is permitted. It will be at the fire hall, 2360 Route 66 in Delmont.

Cake decorating fundraiser
The Franklin Regional Panthers Against Cancer Club will host a March 7 cake decorating fundraiser at The Kitchen by Vangura.
The club is raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through its Student Visionaries of the Year program. The cost is $75 and all proceeds go toward the club’s fundraising.
Participants will take home a decorated flower cake.
It will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Kitchen by Vangura, 14431 Vangura Lane in North Huntingdon.

MLK talk at AAUW meeting
The Murrysville chapter of the American Association of University Women will host a discussion of the life of Martin Luther King Jr. by Penn State history professor Philip Nash.
It will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 12 at the Murrysville Community Library, 4130 Sardis Road.
There is no cost to attend, and the public is invited.

Delmont K-9 fundraiser
The Delmont Police Department will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for its K-9 program.
It will be held from 2-6 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Delmont Volunteer Fire Department, 2360 Route 66. The meal will include an entree, salad, beverage and dessert.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and younger. There will be a basket raffle and 50/50 drawing.
Bless a Dress
The Delmont Public Library is hosting a collection for the “Bless a Dress Pittsburgh” program, collecting gently used homecoming or prom dresses, along with shoes and jewelry.
The clothing will be made available to students who need or cannot afford a prom dress. The collection will continue through March 6 at the library, 75 School St. in Delmont.
Sweetheart Hot Chocolate Hike
The Murrysville Recreation Department will host a “Sweetheart Hot Chocolate Hike” at 2 p.m. Feb. 13.
It will be a 2-3 mile hike through Pleasant Valley Park, 2557 Pleasant Valley Road in Murrysville.
The hike covers wooded terrain with some slopes and may require stepping over fallen trees. Dress for the weather and plan for the terrain, and finish the hike with a cup of hot chocolate.

Track and field parent meetings
The Franklin Regional track and field team will hold parent meetings next month.
The meetings will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 17 in the high school cafeteria, 3200 School Road in Murrysville; and Feb. 24 at the middle school cafeteria, 4660 Old William Penn Highway in Murrysville.

AARP tax-prep sessions
The AARP Foundation will host several sessions for its annual tax preparation program in Murrysville.

Heating assistance program enrollment
The federally funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, has opened enrollment for the season, offering one-time cash grants to qualifying applicants to help with home heating bills or emergency repairs.
Households can apply through April 10 or until the funds are depleted.

Journalism scholarship
The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania is accepting applications for its 20th annual Bob Fryer Memorial Scholarship ($5,000) and the club’s annual $2,500 scholarship for aspiring journalists.

Deadline for entries is Feb. 9. Winners will be awarded at the club’s annual Golden Quills Awards Dinner.
Association of University People
The Association of University People invites potential new members to join them at an event.
The association invites singles aged 50 and older, who are four-year college graduates, to join them for activities and to meet new people. Activities include picnics, monthly dinners, a book group and meetups at local concerts and wineries.
