Mid-October means homecoming for many of the high schools in western Pennsylvania. Franklin Regional will celebrate homecoming at its Friday night football game against McKeesport.

But first, the district will mark the occasion with its annual homecoming bonfire. This year’s bonfire is set for 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the field next to the high school at 3200 School Road. In addition to student performances, student clubs will also be on hand to recruit new members, fund raise and hand out information.

The football game will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at Panther Stadium, and the homecoming queen and king will be crowned at halftime.

Saturday’s homecoming dance is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
