Motorcyclist dead after crash in Downtown Pittsburgh

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash Sunday morning in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh police said they were dispatched to Grant Street and Boulevard of the Allies at 8:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a collision between a vehicle and motorcycle. After arriving on the scene, police said the man operating the motorcycle was found on the down ramp of the Boulevard of the Allies.

The man later was identified as 67-year-old James Christopher of Pittsburgh. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died.

Police said the driver stayed at the scene to speak with police.

The Collision Investigation Unit is looking into the incident.
