Dog dies of gunshot wounds in West Mifflin
A dog that was found shot twice Sunday in West Mifflin has died of his injuries, according to staff at Sable Kennels in McKeesport.
The dog, Marshmallow, was found on Elizabeth Street and taken to Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center, where he later died of his injuries.

Kennywood extends season with 6 days
Six new operating days have been added to Kennywood’s summer schedule, park officials announced Sunday.
The park will be open Aug. 21-25, and Sept. 1, from 3-10 p.m., bringing back its tradition of opening later in the afternoon during the final weekdays of summer as schools return to session.
In addition, Aug. 21-27 is Passholder Perk Week, with special food deals and early ride times, and 2024 season pass holders can visit the park for free during the remainder of 2023.
