Bath House repair closes South Side road
A planned renovation at the Historic Oliver Bath House will temporarily shut down a road in the South Side.
On Friday morning, 10th Street on the South Side will close in both directions to both cars and pedestrians, between Muriel Street and Bingham Street, according to WTAE.
The detour will take drivers off the 10th Street Bridge on the South Side, down Muriel Street and up South 11th to get to East Carson Street. The road is anticipated to reopen by Nov. 22.
Bath House renovations began in spring 2023 and are expected to last until next fall, according to Press Secretary Olga George.
The Oliver Bath House, which was once called the South Side Bath House, was built in 1915. It is now an indoor heated pool facility for residents and is currently being refurbished. Improvements will include a roof replacement, accessibility updates, new changing rooms and preservation of historic window frames.
