2 injured in Glassport crash
Two people were injured Wednesday morning in a crash in Glassport, according to Allegheny County 911.
Officials said the crash happened just after 12:45 a.m. on the 700 block of Hemlock Way.
Two people were taken to the hospital.
Pirates to assist with blood drive incentives
Vitalant, a nonprofit blood and biotherapies health care company based in Pittsburgh, will extend its August blood drive initiative with help from the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The organizations are partnering to address the ongoing blood shortage for the second time this year to host the second and final round of blood drives for 2024. In May, they collected an impressive 657 blood donations together.
Individuals who give blood at one of Vitalant’s Pittsburgh Pirates Blood Drives will receive a voucher redeemable for two free Pirates home game tickets, applicable for games on Sunday through Thursday. All donors who give blood through Aug. 29 will also receive a $10 gift card via Door Rewards and will be automatically entered for a chance to win one of two $10,000 gift cards.
Blood drives will be held Aug. 19, 20 and 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at PNC Park at North Shore, Press Conference Room 115 Federal St. Pittsburgh, PA 15212
