Captain George W. Boyle signs a copy of his autobiographical book, “You Ought’a Write a Book,” for Joyce Penrose on Jan. 13. Boyle, a local photographer and film producer, is the executive director of Boaters are Voters, an organization dedicated to providing a unified voice for recreational boaters.

A 1963 Century is part of the exhibit by members of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, Allegheny Chapter. The 17-foot wood haul classic is owned by Bob Miklos, a member of the club.

The 59th annual Pittsburgh Boat Show opened last weekend at the Monroeville Convention Center. Boating enthusiasts still have time to catch up on the latest in watercraft, sporting equipment and even take a safe boating class this weekend, Jan. 18-20. Times for the show are 5 to 10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
