Community cleanup

In Partnership with Pick Up Pennsylvania and Waste Management, the Janie Summers Memorial Pitcairn Community Cleanup will be from 8 to 11 a.m. April 24.

There will be dumpster sites at the borough building, 582 Sixth St., and at Fire Company No. 1, 100 S. Center Ave.

No TVs, computers or electronic devices will be accepted. Photo ID proof of Pitcairn residency is required.

Gateway school director candidate forum

Held by Allegheny Freedom Works, all candidates running for school board have been invited to attend the Gateway school director candidate forum from 2 to 4 p.m. April 11 at the Pitcairn Park Building, 609 Broadway St.

Summer employment

The Municipality of Monroeville is accepting applications for summer employment.

Applications are available online at monroeville.pa.us or at the Monroeville Municipal Center at 2700 Monroeville Blvd.

The deadline is April 9.

Jack Sedlack Memorial Cleanup

Join together with neighbors, friends and family members on April 24 at 9 a.m. for the 26th annual Jack Sedlak Memorial Clean-Up Day.

Groups, families and individuals are welcome to participate. An appreciation picnic will follow the event.

Easter Book Walk

The Municipality of Monroeville and Monroeville Public Library bring you their latest in the Community Book Walk series. The Book Walk will be available along the trail behind the gazebo and flower garden through April 5.

Everyone likes a game of hide and seek, right? When all the other eggs want to play, Shel is not sure about joining them. To make matters worse, there are eggs missing. What’s a good egg to do? This hilarious adventure is coming to Monroeville Community Park (West).

Drive-thru egg hunt

Stop by the Monroeville Community Park (West) with your children 2-10 and pick up a bag of pre-filled eggs and a couple of extra goodies from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 27.

Bags will be distributed at the turnabout at the Gazebo, with the Easter Bunny sitting nearby and waving to all his friends. In addition to the treat bags, clue sheets will be provided that you can use for creating your own at-home scavenger egg hunt.

Share photos from your at-home egg hunt on the Monroeville Recreation Facebook page on or before April 1 to be entered for a chance to win one of several gift cards. No registration is necessary. Supplies are limited.

Easter services

The Monroeville Christian Church will be have a Bible study at 9:30 a.m. and Easter services at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. April 4.

All services will be in-person and broadcast live online from its Facebook page and at MonroevilleChristianChurch.com.

A staffed nursery and children’s classes are available during all service times.
