During the Gateway School Board’s reorganization meeting Dec. 1, Janette Beighel, Rick McIntyre and Anthony Mock officially stepped into their posts.

The new directors, along with inductee Leslie McBride, will each serve a four-year term. McBride was the only board member up for reelection.

Judge Jeffrey Herbst read the Certificates of Election and administered the oath of office for the newly nominated directors.

The nominating committee presented the candidates’ names for a new president and vice president for 2026.

With five votes, McBride was nominated as the new president. Valerie Warning was nominated as vice president with six votes. John Ritter received four votes, and Donna Burns received three votes.

McBride and Warning also served as the immediate past president and past vice president, respectively, for 2025.

The school board voted unanimously to reappoint Bruce Dice Associates P.C. as solicitor under the current terms and conditions agreed upon. It also voted unanimously to reappoint Weiss, Burkhardt and Kramer LLC as special education counsel/special counsel under the current terms and conditions agreed upon.
