Drugs, hindering apprehension among charges handled by Monroeville District Judge Jeffrey Herbst on May 24, 2021

Monroeville District Judge Jeffrey L. Herbst handled these cases May 24. Defendants will have court dates set in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

Held for court

• Frank Russo, 35, of Penn Hills on charges of possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving with a suspended license, driving with obstructed window and improper sunscreening. Charges were filed April 10.

• Thomas Betker, 39, of Homestead on charges of possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. Charges were filed Jan. 24.

• Aaron Lawther, 46, of Pittsburgh on charges of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, driving over divider and careless driving. Charges were filed Jan. 27.

• Shawnell Wade, 35, of Penn Hills on two counts of conspiracy to commit retail theft. Charges were filed Jan. 21. Wade went before the judge on another case. Charges of retail theft were held for court. Charges were filed Jan. 18.

• Steven Linsenbigler, 47, of Pittsburgh on charges of driving under the influence. Charges were filed Feb. 6.

• Joshua Valenta, 36, of White Oak on charges of possession of controlled substances, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed Nov. 7.

Waived preliminary hearings

• Elliot Rouse, 27, of Verona on charges of driving under the influence and careless driving. Charges were filed Dec. 6.

• Anthony Rometo, 31, of Penn Hills on charges of depositing waste on the highway and two counts of possession of controlled substances. Charges were filed Nov. 7.

• Robert Hanna, 26, of Monroeville on charges of driving under the influence, failure to keep right and careless driving. State police filed the charges Jan. 6.

• Joy McIntire, 51, of Saltsburg on charges of possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. State police filed the charges Dec. 30.
