Divine Mercy Academy students present ‘Tangled’ in Monroeville
Divine Mercy Academy students presented their production of “Tangled” on May 30.
Based on the 2010 Walt Disney Pictures film, which in turn draws from European fairy tales, “Tangled” follows long-haired heroine Rapunzel on an adventure to leave the tower in which she is held and see a vast array of floating lanterns in the kingdom where she belongs.
Ella Rembert starred as Rapunzel, Simon Bandish as the heroic Flynn Rider, Temple Levels as evil Mother Gothel, Eliana Willis as Maxine the Horse, and Sabrina Perez as Pascal the Chameleon.
The production at the Monroeville school also featured new characters such as the forest princesses and Pascal’s sister, Patty. The performance included four songs and dancing.
The students rehearsed the play every Thursday after school as part of an after-school program through the nonprofit Alabaster Performing Arts.
