Federal marshals in Florida arrested a Pittsburgh man wanted in connection with a June shooting outside a bar in Mt. Washington, Pittsburgh police said Thursday.

Damian Schott, 24, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday, authorities said. Schott, of Mt. Washington, has been wanted since homicide charges were filed against him June 16, five days after he’s alleged to have shot and killed 22-year-old Edgard Fumbula.

The shooting happened June 11 just outside Satalio’s, a Bailey Avenue bar. A witness who works at the bar said Fumbula arrived about 10:30 p.m. June 1, and Schott and another man were also in the bar at the time, according to the criminal complaint.

The witness said Fumbula and the man who was with Schott “were having ‘words’” as the man left the bar but noted no physical fight ensued, according to the complaint.

The witness did not see any of the men leave the bar but heard six shots outside about five minutes after they saw Fumbula and the other men exchange words, police wrote.

Police say security cameras outside the bar recorded the shooting, and police said the witness identified the shooter as Schott.

City-owned security cameras at two other intersections captured a man who matched the shooter from the bar’s camera running on Boggs Avenue, according to the complaint. The man in the footage from the bar and the street showed the man wearing a “distinct floral-pattern shirt.”

Police said a photo posted to Schott’s Facebook page hours before the shooting showed him wearing the same distinct floral shirt.

Schott is charged with homicide, aggravated assault and firearms violations.

It was not clear Thursday afternoon when he fled to Florida and when he might be extradited to Allegheny County. No defense attorney was listed on court records.
