A 26-year-old man died after a shooting in Beltzhoover Wednesday, according to authorities.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the man as Daniel Brice, of Pittsburgh, who died at Mercy Hospital.

Pittsburgh police said officers responded to an alert of multiple rounds fired in the 100 block of Climax Street just before 5:15 p.m.

Detectives working in the area saw a vehicle believed to be headed to the hospital with a possible victim. They escorted it to an emergency bay, police said.

Brice had suffered a critical gunshot wound, and was later pronounced deceased in the hospital.

Officers found shell casings at the scene on Climax Street.

Police were continuing to investigate.
