A Hill District man is accused of robbing a convenience store around the corner from his home at gunpoint late Monday and running away with $440 in cash.

Pittsburgh police said they arrested Quintin Briskey, 33, around 11:50 p.m. on Webster Avenue, less than one-fifth of a mile from the shop, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case. He had left his credit card and keys in the store.

Police charged Briskey with robbery, marijuana possession and carrying a firearm without a license, court records show. He is being held in Allegheny County Jail without bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 21.

Briskey’s attorney was not listed Tuesday in court records.

Police responded to Miami Market on Herron Avenue just after 11:45 p.m. after receiving a report about an armed robbery there, the complaint said.

Police said they stopped Briskey, who matched the description of a witness, and found him with a .26-caliber pistol, $440 in cash and a small amount suspected marijuana, the complaint said. Records showed Briskey did not have a valid permit to carry firearms.
