Man dies in Mount Washington house fire, 4 others displaced
A man was found dead inside a house following a fire in Pittsburgh’s Mount Washington neighborhood Saturday afternoon, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials.
Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire, Police, and EMS responded to the 100 block of Pasadena Street at about 4:15 p.m. to a fire in a house.
First responders found a locked bedroom that was fully engulfed in flames, said officials.
Officials said a 71-year-old man was found deceased inside.
Another male in the home was transported to a hospital by medics and treated for smoke inhalation, according to public safety officials.
Three additional tenants lived in the home and were displaced due to the fire. Officials said the tenants will be receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
Officials said the city’s Fire Investigation Unit will be investigating.
