Woodville volunteer day
Woodville Plantation is holding a volunteer day at 11 a.m. March 12. Learn more about volunteer opportunities, including docent/junior docent, interpreter, museum aide, Wayne’s 4th Sub-Legion reenactor, gardener, demonstrator and auxiliary volunteers. Spring art show
The Galleria Mt. Lebanon will host a Spring Art Show in the common area of the mall. The show runs March 4-13. Show hours are Fridays through Saturdays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sundays, noon-5 p.m. Several groups are participating, including South Arts Pittsburgh, Whitehall, McMurray and Bethel Park Art Leagues and Photo Section 1 and 2. There will be a variety of original framed artwork and photography by local artists, as well as greeting cards and matted prints. Class reunion

Ballet auditions
The Carnegie Performing Arts Center is holding auditions for the ballet “Peter Pan,” based on the famous story by J.M. Barrie. Performances will be at the Andrew Carnegie Music Hall in April and May. Director Monica Ryan choreographs the production and rehearsals will take place on Saturday afternoons. Ages 5-12 are invited to audition at 2 p.m. Feb. 26 and ages 13 and up at 3 p.m., at the studios of the Carnegie Performing Arts Center, 500 Chestnut Street in Carnegie. Chamber annual meeting and networking event
South West Communities Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Member Meeting and Networking event on March 3. The annual meeting will take place from 5-5:30 p.m. at Hyatt Place in Meadowlands. Historical society program
Bridgeville Area Historical Society will host “Heroic Women of the American Revolution” presented by Deborah Morinello at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department.
Ashes to go
The South Hills Partnership of United Methodist Churches will be offering Ashes-To-Go on the morning of Ash Wednesday, March 2, from 7:30-9 a.m.
Ashes will be available at two locations: the parking lot of Carnegie United Methodist Church on Washington Avenue in Carnegie, and the corner of Allen Street and Warrington Avenue in the Allentown neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Allentown’s Ashes-To-Go is a joint effort between Hill Top United Methodist Church and Abiding Missions.
Ashes-To-Go is ideal for people who don’t have time for a full church service on Ash Wednesday but would like to observe the first day of Lent. Individuals or groups can stop on the way to work or while taking the kids to school. Drive up – or walk up – and clergy from the South Hills Partnership will administer ashes to anyone who wants them, say a brief prayer, and offer some Lenten remembrances to take with you.
St. Raphael fish fry
St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Worship Site fish fry will be held every Friday during Lent, beginning March 4 from 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. (reduced hours on Good Friday). Baked and fried fish, fish sandwiches, crab cakes, shrimp, pierogi, haluski, mac & cheese, stewed tomatoes, clam chowder, french fries, and potato soup.
