l Gustavo Campos, mathematics/engineering; Phillip Costa, biology; Katarina McCaffrey, biochemistry; Connor McCune, nursing; Amanda Pugliano, integrated science; and Michael Waros, business economics, were named to the dean’s list of Saint Vincent College for the spring 2021 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or better out of a possible 4.0.
l Dajoun Bell, mass communication, was named to the Spring 2021 dean’s list at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. A full-time student whose semester GPA is 3.5 or higher in 12 or more semester hours of course work for which a grade or grades are received, is named to the dean’s list.
l Sarah Corrie, Gabrielle Davis, Sarah DeFrancesco, Julie Gruss, Jenna Guido, Megan Helman, Jesse Kaufman, Juliet Kisalita, Katie Madjerich, Sean Marcoz, Nathan Matthews, Megan McCafferty, Riley Smith, Amanda Stroh, Jessica Stroh, Kristian Thomas, Natalie Vecchio, Elizabeth Wernert and Zachary Wernert have been named to the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University for the Spring 2021 semester. The dean’s list consists of SRU undergraduate students who earned an adjusted semester GPA of 3.5 or higher, based on a schedule of at least 12 newly attempted and earned credits.
Garden City UMC food pantry
Garden City UMC food pantry, 500 Laurel Drive, holds distributions from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. Call 412-373-0391 for an appointment. Face masks are required. Upcoming distribution dates are: July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Oct. 14, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9.

English as Second Language group meets monthly
An English as a Second Language (ESL) Conversation Group is held at 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month at the Monroeville Public Library.
Participants can meet other English language learners for informal and guided conversation practice, including reviewing pronunciation, learning new vocabulary and possibly discussing short ESL readings suited to the interests and abilities of attendees.

Women’s Business Network

l The Monroeville Chapter holds meetings on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. The next meeting will be June 23 and will feature a two-part event that includes a virtual morning meeting and an outdoor, socially distanced tour of two historic houses built in the early 1800s that will include a boxed dinner.
