Richland Township has been notified by the Allegheny County Division of Elections that the polling location for District 8 has been changed for the general election on Nov. 3.

The new voting location will be at the Richland Township Firehall, 5857 Meridian Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044. The change only affects voters who previously voted at St. Barnabas Retirement Village, Building C, 5850 Meridian Road.

The Allegheny County Division of Elections will be mailing notices to all registered voters in District 8 confirming the change. No other in-person polling locations have been changed in Richland Township.

Church selling pumpkin rolls, offers trunk-or-treat

Salem United Methodist Church is accepting orders for pumpkin rolls.

Rolls are handmade by members of Salem Church for this fundraiser.

Traditional rolls cost $15, and gluten-free rolls cost $20. One roll serves 12-15 people.

They can be frozen for holiday parties, and they make great gifts.

• The church will host a trunk-or-treat from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Oct. 31. Come in costume to get a head-start on Halloween fun in the safety of the church’s parking lot.

Townships schedule trick-or-treat for Oct. 31

Trick-or-treat in Richland and Pine townships will be from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Residents who plan to hand out treats are asked to keep their porch lights on. People opting out should leave their homes darkened.

Difficult-to-recycle event scheduled for Nov. 21 in Pine

Pine will host an event to collect difficult-to-recycle items from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 21.

ECS&R Environmental Coordination Services and Recycling Inc. will be at the municipal parking lot at 230 Pearce Mill Road to collect TV sets, computer monitors, small appliances that contain Freon, fluorescent bulbs, batteries and other electronics.

Registration is required, and a fee is charged for the items dropped off.
