Food drive on Montour Trail
The Montour Trail Council is teaming up with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and Greater Washington County Food Bank to collect non-perishable food and household items.
Donations will be collected from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on June 19 at Washington Elementary School on Bethel Branch of the Montour Trail (mile 1, Bethel Branch). Rain date is June 20.
Nonperishable donations sought include toilet paper, paper towels, and household and hygiene items. Monetary donations will not be accepted, and no glass containers, please.
“Contributing to the Food Banks is something we can all do to make a difference,” said Patricia Friedsam, chair of the Montour Trail Council’s Membership and Community Outreach Committee. “Each donation, no matter how small it may seem to us, can make a big difference in the lives of those who are struggling. Please come out to support your neighbors.”
