Shaler student wins first place in sculpture contest

Shaler Area Elementary School fifth-grader Miley Crowell won first place in The Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania’s 2018-19 Youth Sculpture Contest. The contest is part of the National Garden Club’s Youth Sculpture Contest. The theme of the contest is “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.” The winning sculpture is based on the effective and creative use of recycled materials.

Miley’s submission was sponsored by the Shaler Garden Club, District IX.
